Polhena Diving Center

Tucked into the coastal village of Madiha in Matara, Sri Lanka, Polhena Diving Center is a small but professional PADI 5 Star Dive Resort run by two PADI Instructors. Courses, dive sites and what they're known for

Newcomers and returning divers can join a Half-Day Dive Trip (from USD 60, around 4 hours) or step up to the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course. Right offshore lies a house reef, plus dive sites including Polhena Reef, Rock Wall, Parrot Wall, Dondra Point and Octopus Reef, where divers may encounter sharks, whales, turtles, ocean fish, eels, molluscs, crustaceans, corals and more.

Conservation runs deep here: the team organises beach and underwater cleanups, is building a coral restoration program, and partners with Sri Lanka's only turtle identification project. With a waterfront classroom, free Wi-Fi, a dive boat, parking and gear rental, it suits divers who want a friendly, hands-on, ocean-protecting base.
