Sri Lanka Diving Tours

Run by tec diving legend Feli Fernando and his family, Sri Lanka Diving Tours is one of six centres in their group and proudly the only tec rec dive centre in Sri Lanka. This PADI 5 Star IDC centre fields three PADI instructors and teaches in English, German, Tamil and Hindi, making it a welcoming base whether you're taking your first breaths underwater or building toward a professional career.

Courses and diving

The instructors run recreational PADI courses across all levels. Try Discover Scuba Diving from USD 85, step into PADI Open Water Diver from USD 369, or pick up Emergency First Response from USD 150. Twin tanks with isolator manifolds, Nitrox and trimix are available, and divers heading pro can join the Instructor Development Courses held each February and September.

One signature dive is the World War Two wreck HMS Hermes — the world's first purpose-built aircraft carrier, sunk by Japanese dive bombers in 1942. Out on the reefs you may encounter sharks, whales, turtles, eels, molluscs and crustaceans, corals and more, backed by an onsite training pool, classroom, dive boat and accommodation.
