Scuba Safaris (pvt) Ltd.

Set on the beach at Uppaveli in Trincomalee, Scuba Safaris holds the distinction of being the first dive centre in Sri Lanka, established in 1969. Today it's a PADI 5 Star Dive Centre with three PADI Instructors, blending decades of local knowledge with a friendly, waterfront base right beside the sea.

Courses and diving

The team runs PADI Scuba Diving courses alongside PADI First Aid — EFR training, so whether you're taking your first breaths underwater or building on existing skills, there's a pathway here. An onsite training pool makes early sessions relaxed, and a dive boat carries divers out to the waters off Trincomalee. Instruction is offered in English.

Beneath the surface, divers can encounter sharks, whales, turtles and ocean fish, among other marine life. Back on land, the centre keeps things easy with onsite accommodation, food and drinks, free Wi-Fi, parking and air fills, plus kids' equipment rental for younger visitors. It's a welcoming choice for families and anyone wanting to learn or dive with a piece of Sri Lankan diving history.
