Ruhunu Diving Center

Tucked into the coastline at Tangalle in Sri Lanka's Matara district, Ruhunu Diving Center is a small-scale PADI dive center that puts quality and safety first. The team is professional and experienced, and they take a refreshingly firm line: if the sea conditions aren't right, they simply don't dive. Trips never mix experience levels, so beginners and advanced divers each get the focus they're after.

Courses, sites and who it suits

Whether you're working toward a PADI certification, refreshing rusty skills with a tune-up, or just after a guided dive, there's a spot and a guide here for you. Local dive sites include the Commander PH museum, Tangalle reef and Lee's Apartment, where divers may encounter sharks, whales, turtles and ocean fish.

Days start early — meet at the center at 7:00 AM, then head to Silent Beach where the boats wait. On site you'll find a classroom, free Wi-Fi, a retail shop, accommodation, and food and drinks, plus air fills, equipment sales and rental. English is spoken, and the friendly staff keep the whole experience relaxed and personal.
