Kalpitiya Diving Center

Kalpitiya Diving Center (KDC) is a PADI 5 Star Dive Resort on Sri Lanka's west coast, built as a base for safe diving and for exploring the typical Sri Lankan coral reef and its reef fishes. With one PADI Instructor and English spoken, it's a welcoming spot to learn the basics or build toward a professional path.

Courses and dive trips

KDC offers the full range of PADI courses, from Discovery Scuba Diving for first-timers through to the Divemaster program for those wanting to go pro. Short PADI DSD courses pair with pool training sessions so beginners get a comfortable, guided introduction. Options include PADI Scuba Diver, Adventure Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver and Rescue Diver, plus Emergency First Response training. Recreational divers can join guided trips to the scenic reefs of Kalpitiya, including the Bar Reef and surrounding hotspots, where Half-Day Dive Trips start from USD 88.

Marine life around these waters spans sharks, whales, turtles, ocean fish, rays, eels, molluscs, crustaceans, corals, anemones and jellyfish. With an onsite classroom, full equipment rental and sales, KDC suits beginners and recreational divers alike.
