About Scubafun
Set on the shore of Bayahibe in the Dominican Republic, Scubafun makes a natural starting point for exploring the country's underwater world — right where Parque Nacional del Este begins. This protected park shelters delicate sea-grass beds, mangrove forests and, above all, richly coloured coral reefs teeming with life, from lobsters and eagle rays to turtles, sharks and dolphins.
Courses and dive sites
As a PADI 5 Star Dive Center staffed by 6 PADI instructors, Scubafun runs a full spread of experiences. Try the Discover Scuba Experience, venture out on Reef and Wreck adventures, or spend a full day exploring Catalina Island or Saona Island. Divers head to sites including Viva Shallow, Guadalupe, Peñon, The Wall, Aquarium and the Atlantic Princess.
On land, there's an onsite classroom and parking, with Nitrox and a range of scuba and kids' equipment available for rental. The team welcomes guests in five languages — English, Spanish, French, German and Italian — making it a friendly, well-equipped choice for beginners and seasoned divers alike.

Although we were staying in Punta Cana, the reviews of the dive operations and conditions in Punta Cana were not favorable. After looking online we decided to go with Scuba Fun in Bayahibe and had a fantastic experience. The owner John was helpful from the moment we contacted him and worked around our schedule. Our instructor Igor was fantastic. He made safety a priority, gave easy clear instructions, and made the entire experience a lot of fun. The equipment was in great shape and the staff even took care of our own personal equipment for us. We saw 4 different beautiful sites and can't wait to return to Bayahibe to dive with Scuba Fun again.
