On the island of Tholen in Zeeland, Netherlands, Sub Ocean Services is far more than a dive shop. This PADI 5 Star Dive Center pairs a retail and rental counter with its own fill station, an onsite classroom, and its very own training pool — so learning to dive can start in comfort before you head to open water.

Courses and specialties

Beyond Open Water and Advanced, the centre offers more than 15 specialties, including Boat, Deep, Wreck and Drift diving, plus Nitrox, all the way up to the Divemaster course. A single PADI Instructor guides the way, and instruction is available in English, Dutch and Filipino.

Sub Ocean's real draw is local access: the 14 finest dive locations on the island of Tholen all sit within a 15-minute drive, and the team runs guided dives to help you discover the underwater world — including a house reef right on the doorstep. Dive gear is available to buy or rent, in sizes for young and old alike, making this a welcoming base for new and returning divers.
