Sun Diving Center

Run by a Sri Lankan family on Unawatuna Beach since October 2014, Sun Diving Center is a PADI 5-Star Dive Resort in Galle that pairs professional, safe instruction with relaxed beach vibes. Its local and international team of 5 PADI Instructors speaks 11 languages — including English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Tamil and Hindi — making every diver feel at home.

Courses and diving

With 23 courses and activities, the center suits everyone from first-timers to aspiring PADI Pros. Options range from the PADI Scuba Diver and Open Water Referral – Part II to PADI Wreck Diver, Peak Performance Buoyancy, EFR and the ReActivate refresher (from USD 90). Multi-dive packages start at USD 160, and equipment, Nitrox and air fills are all available on site.

Dives explore local sites such as Gala Pita Gala, Aluth Gala, Napolioan Reef and the wrecks SS Orestes and SS Rangoon, with chances to encounter sharks, turtles, whales, rays and reef fish. Backed by a training pool, classroom, house reef and dive boat, it's an easygoing, family-friendly base for the season.
