Weligama Bay Diving Centre

Set on the south coast of Sri Lanka near Matara, Weligama Bay Diving Centre was established in 2013 by Thaminda K. Kumara, an IDC Staff Instructor since 2014. With 20 years in the dive industry, he has built a strong reputation for safety and professionalism across Sri Lanka and the wider diving community. Today his nephew, Sahan Damayantha, a PADI OWSI instructor, manages the operation, which runs as a PADI 5 Star Dive Resort with five PADI instructors.

Courses for every level

The centre offers the full range of PADI courses, from Discover Scuba Diving for first-timers right through to the Divemaster program for those ready to go pro. PADI Snorkelling and EFR First Aid round out the training options, with instruction available in English, German, Chinese, French and Italian.

On-site you'll find a classroom, air conditioning, free and paid Wi-Fi, and a dive boat, alongside air fills, equipment sales and scuba gear rental. It's a well-equipped base that suits complete beginners and divers looking to step up their certification alike.
