Abyss Dive

Abyss Dive is a small, family-run operation in Marlborough, New Zealand, and its whole spirit is captured in that word: family. Paul is a qualified PADI instructor who has been diving for over 20 years, while his wife Janelle is a Rescue diver working towards her Dive Master. Because both work full-time elsewhere, they run trips on weekends and public holidays, with pool instruction on week nights — a relaxed, personal pace that suits divers who prefer a hands-on, unhurried welcome.

Courses and diving in the Marlborough Sounds

The pair share their passion through Scuba Diving Courses and Trips across the Nelson/Marlborough Sounds area. On offer are PADI Discover Scuba Diving, Scuba Diver, Open Water Diver, Adventure Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver, Rescue Diver and a select range of Specialty Courses. Trips run from their hard-top boat, 'Off The Rocks', a spacious and comfortable ride on the water.

Divers here can encounter sharks, whales, turtles, ocean fish, rays, eels, molluscs and crustaceans, corals, anemones and more. With air fills, equipment sales and scuba rental on hand, it's an easygoing base for anyone keen to explore this corner of New Zealand.
