Cathedral Cove Dive Ltd

Set at the base of Cathedral Cove and just 5 minutes from Hot Water Beach in Hahei, this PADI Dive Centre puts you within reach of some of the Coromandel Peninsula's finest ocean diving and snorkelling. Trips run both inside the Cathedral Cove Marine Reserve and out to the islands and pinnacles beyond its boundaries.

Courses and dive trips

With 5 PADI Instructors on hand, the centre teaches everything from PADI Discover Scuba Diving — no experience needed, just allow 3 hours — through the PADI Open Water Diver Course and up to Advanced Open Water. Certified divers can join guided dive trips, including a half-day single dive from USD 163 or a two-dive outing, while guided snorkel boat trips come with full wetsuits and an in-water guide.

Local dive sites include Spectacle Reef, Hapuka Rock, Cave Bay and Mahurangi Island, where the marine life ranges from ocean fish and eels to turtles, rays and the occasional shark. With an onsite classroom, retail shop, house reef and its own dive boat, it suits first-timers and certified divers alike.
