At Dive Zone Bay of Islands, you're diving with a PADI 5 Star IDC Resort — backed by five PADI Instructors and the support of the world's largest dive organisation. From boat or shore, the Bay of Islands offers prolific fish life, wrecks, and endless dive sites suited to everyone from first-timers to advanced divers.

Courses and local dive sites

PADI courses run from Open Water through to Instructor, with options including the PADI ReActivate Scuba Refresher and PADI Discover Scuba Diving (each from USD 210, around 5 hours to 1 day) and the PADI Divemaster (from USD 301, approximately 14 days). Enriched air (Nitrox) is available too.

Dives explore standout sites such as the Rainbow Warrior Wreck, Putataua Bay, Putahaha Island, and the HMSNZ Canterbury Wreck, reached aboard the centre's own Stabicraft boat with experienced skippers. Prefer to head out independently? Full gear hire is available for $99 per day, including two tanks — a great fit for divers of every level.
