Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia · Dive Center
Plan this trip with AI →Big Ocean Dive is a PADI 5 Star Dive Center in Kuala Lumpur, founded in 2015 by Malaysian-born American Michael Grossman, who first started diving at the age of 15. After beginning his career as a commercial diver in the United States, he found his calling as a dive instructor. In 2017 he teamed up with his British buddy Tim Warburton, whom he met working as commercial divers in Portland.
With three PADI instructors on staff, the centre runs scuba diving, freediving, and swimming courses for everyone from beginners to instructors, alongside PADI TecRec, snorkelling, conservation, and EFR first aid. Each year the team certifies hundreds of new divers, including families and children, and leads dive trips around Southeast Asia.
Divers explore sites such as Hin Bida, Pulau Renggis, Koh Bida Nai & Nok, Manta Point, Crystal Rock, Castle Rock, and Shark Point, with chances to encounter sharks, whales, turtles, and ocean fish. On-site facilities include a training pool, classroom, air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, a retail shop, food and drinks, and parking. English is spoken, making it a welcoming choice for divers at any level.
