About Big Squid
Big Squid is a 5 Star PADI Scuba Diving Centre with 5 PADI Instructors, running most of its training in Clapham and Dulwich in London, as well as Portland in Dorset. Alongside recreational, technical and professional PADI courses, it also offers PADI Freediving Courses, an onsite classroom, and an active dive club for members to join.
Courses and diving
The centre's range spans PADI Open Water Diver theory, Enriched Air Diver, Rescue Diver, Divemaster, Scuba ReActivate and Emergency First Response: CPR and AED. Divers can explore UK sites such as Scapa Flow, The Farne Islands, Skomer Island in West Wales, Lundy Island, Chesil Beach, Vobster Quay, St Abbs Marine Park, Portland and Wraysbury Lake, with the chance to encounter sharks, whales, turtles and ocean fish.
As a full dive shop, Big Squid sells new and used equipment and provides equipment hire, servicing and air fills. It suits divers of every level, from first-timers building theory to professionals, all served in English.

I never made it out to the center itself. Instead, I chose to communicate via email and make all arrangements. On the day of the dive, I showed up and was greeted by the team and provided a great set of rental gear. They provided everything I needed and it was all in excellent condition. I was quite surprised by the condition after renting gear from other vendors in the past. The instructors were quite professional in all aspects from the pre-dive brief to the dive to the post-dive review. Everything was covered and I felt very comfortable with them. I would definitely dive with Big Squid again.
