Blue World Diving

Mafia Island and its reefs are renowned as an excellent, world-class diving destination. Scientists have confirmed that Mafia holds some of the richest reefs in the world, with an unparalleled variety of hard and soft corals and a remarkable diversity of tropical fish. Blue World Diving, a PADI 5 Star Dive Resort on the island, dives sites from Mafia to Kilwa — shallow to deep reefs, bommies, channels, walls and caves, plus drift and night dives.

Courses and diving

Whether you're just starting out or building experience, there's a clear path here. The PADI Open Water Diver Course runs from USD 500, with the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver from USD 470 and the PADI Rescue Diver from USD 465. Already certified? The PADI ReActivate Scuba Refresher starts from USD 100, and diving in Chole Bay is available from USD 105.

Divers can expect encounters with sharks, whales, turtles and ocean fish. On-site you'll find a training pool, classroom, house reef and dive boat, plus air fills and equipment rental. The team speaks English, Spanish and Italian, making it a welcoming base for a wide range of visitors.
