Buccaneer Diving

On Paje Beach in Zanzibar, Buccaneer Diving is a PADI 5-Star IDC centre and one of East Africa's leading dive companies. Whether you've never breathed underwater or you're a seasoned diver, its expert instructors set you up to explore the reefs of Zanzibar, with onsite accommodation and customised boats along the way.

Dive sites and courses

The centre offers over 20 local dive sites to suit every level and taste, from inner-lagoon and sloping outer-reef dives to wall dives — all run as drift dives with a boat following the group for support. Three sites sit within the reef, just a 15-minute boat ride from the base in Paje and Jambiani. Sheltered inside the barrier reef, the lagoon stays calmer for divers and marine life alike, with depths ranging from 6 m to 22 m.

Courses span PADI Discover Scuba Diving from USD 180, the Open Water Diver Course from USD 595, and Advanced Open Water from USD 490, plus refreshers from USD 25. Divers may spot sharks, whales, turtles and ocean fish.
