Cabo Pulmo Divers

Set on the shores of Cabo Pulmo in Mexico's Baja California Sur, Cabo Pulmo Divers holds a special place in the region's history. It emerged in 1990 through the vision of founder Mario Castro Lucero, who set out to trade fishing nets for ecotourism and build a sustainable livelihood around diving. That commitment made it the first dive shop rooted 100% in the local community, with scuba diving as the main activity within the national park.

Courses and diving

As a PADI Resort with 5 PADI instructors, the centre offers PADI scuba diving and snorkelling for a range of experience levels. A convenient house reef and a dive boat open the door to the local underwater world, while a retail shop, equipment rental and parking round out the on-site facilities.

Divers here can share the water with sharks, whales, turtles, rays, ocean fish, corals, anemones and more. With staff speaking both English and Spanish, Cabo Pulmo Divers suits travellers drawn to marine-rich waters and a genuinely community-led ethos.
