Carlo Scuba

Carlo Scuba sits right on the waterfront at Las Gatas beach in Zihuatanejo, Mexico, where founder Carlo Durand opened the shop in 1962 as one of the very first dive centers in Mexico. Three generations of the same family have carried the dream forward, keeping safety, service and fun at the heart of everything they do.

Courses and diving

As a PADI 5 Star Dive Center with 2 PADI Instructors, Carlo Scuba offers PADI Scuba Diving and PADI Snorkelling, backed by air fills, nitrox and a full range of scuba, freediving and kids' equipment rental. A house reef right off this Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo waterfront makes it easy to get in the water, and conservation activities reflect the center's long-held respect for the ocean.

Divers here share the water with sharks, whales, turtles, ocean fish, molluscs and crustaceans, corals, anemones and jellyfish. With English, Spanish and French spoken, plus Wi-Fi, a retail shop, dive boat and food and drinks on site, it suits everyone from first-timers to seasoned divers looking for a welcoming, family-run base.
