Deep Blue Academy

Tucked into the harbour town of Volos, Deep Blue Academy is a PADI 5 Star Dive Resort and 5 Star Freediver Center staffed by 2 PADI instructors. It's a full-service base for scuba diving, freediving and snorkelling, rounded out by conservation work, EFR first aid and adaptive diving for those who need it.

Courses and diving

With ten courses and activities on offer, there's a clear path from first breaths underwater to going pro. Beginners can start with the PADI Open Water Diver Course, then build up through Adventure Diver and Advanced Open Water. Specialties such as Deep Diver, Boat Diver and Digital Underwater Photographer add focused skills, while the PADI Divemaster route takes committed divers all the way to leadership. There's even a Dive Against Debris day for divers who want to give back to the water.

Local diving centres on the Great Wall dive site, where you might share the water with sharks, whales, turtles and ocean fish. With a retail shop, parking and equipment sales on hand, and staff speaking both English and Greek, it's a welcoming choice for divers at any level.
