Plan this trip with AI →Tucked away on the south-western tip of Unguja, the Menai Bay Conservation Area is one of Zanzibar's quieter dive destinations — a sprawl of volcanic islands, sand banks and coral reefs where Dive Time Zanzibar, a PADI 5 Star Dive Center with two PADI instructors, welcomes divers of every level.
The dive sites here run between 10 and 35 metres, with water temperatures of 25–30°C year-round. The reefs teem with corals and tropical fish — puffer fish, box fish, emperor fish, nudibranchs, trumpet fish and moray eels, alongside sea horses, octopus, blue spotted rays, barracudas, tuna, reef sharks, turtles and dolphins. From August to October, humpback whales pass through the conservation area.
Whether you're starting out or logging serious dives, there's a fitting path: Discover Scuba Diving, PADI Scuba Diver, Open Water Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver and PADI Deep Diver, plus a double dive from USD 110. With an onsite training pool, waterfront location, dive boat, equipment rental and English- and Hungarian-speaking staff, it suits beginners and experienced divers alike.
