East Cape Explorers

Tucked into the marina at San José del Cabo on Mexico's East Cape, East Cape Explorers was the first scuba diving, snorkelling and whale-watching operation to open in this stretch of Los Cabos. For the past decade the team has been exploring reefs and seamounts up and down a coastline still largely uncharted for diving.

Courses and diving

A PADI 5 Star Dive Resort staffed by three PADI instructors, the centre keeps things simple with a Half-Day Dive Trip from USD 110 (about 4 hours) and a Discover Scuba Diving session from USD 160 (roughly 5 hours) for newcomers. Dives explore local sites such as Zacatitos, where sharks, whales, turtles, rays and reef fish are among the marine life you might encounter.

On-site you'll find a house reef, dive boat, air fills and scuba equipment rental, plus air conditioning, free Wi-Fi and parking. Staff speak English and Spanish, making it a welcoming base for divers keen to explore an area that still feels like a secret.
