Plan this trip with AI →Tucked into the crystalline waters of Borneo near Kota Kinabalu, Gayana Dive Centre opens up some of the most unique reefs in the world, where colourful coral gardens shelter sea turtles, clownfish, coral fish, whale sharks and many more vibrant species. This PADI Certified centre welcomes divers of all skill levels, with four PADI instructors and eight languages spoken on site.
The line-up runs from a Full-Day Dive Trip and Discover Scuba Diving to the PADI ReActivate Scuba Refresher (from USD 89), PADI Advanced Open Water Diver and Open Water Diver. Local sites are plentiful, including Sapi House Reef, Nudi Garden, Rons Reef, Sapi Slope, Ribbon Reef, Turtle Patch and the Hanging Gardens, with an onsite training pool, classroom and a house reef close at hand.
Gayana sits at the heart of a resort built around its Marine Ecology Research Centre, where the team focuses on conserving the seven Giant Clam species found in these waters. With much of the area closed to the public, it suits divers after an exclusive, uncluttered experience that gives back to the reef.
