Kalypso Dive Center

Founded in 1998, Kalypso Dive Center is a PADI 5 Star Dive Center in Plakias, on the island of Crete in Greece. Over the years it has assembled an exceptional team of multilingual instructors and dive masters, welcoming divers in both English and Greek and offering PADI scuba diving alongside air fills and onsite accommodation.

Diving the Marine Park of Kalypso

The center's home waters lie around the unique Marine Park of Kalypso, a closed ecosystem set against the rugged coast of Karavos beach. Sheltered from the weather and fed by the strong currents of the Libyan Sea, it offers more than 30 meters of visibility and biodiversity that feels genuinely rare in the Mediterranean.

Unique local fish species live and reproduce here, while large pelagic fishes visit to hunt. Turtles and loggerheads are drawn to the rare flora, and Mediterranean seals sometimes appear in the bay. It's a fine fit for divers who value protected, marine-life-rich waters and expert guidance. Note that Kalypso Dive Center does not run diving on Saturdays.
