Malaysia Mermaid Club

Malaysia Mermaid Club holds a singular place in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah — it is the first and only professional Mermaid Centre and Club in the city, home to the first and only PADI Mermaid Instructor teaching here. Set in the Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park, the centre brings together a team of six PADI Instructors devoted to training, safety, and conservation.

Courses and community

This is a PADI Freediver Centre offering 12 courses and activities, with a clear focus on the art of underwater mermaiding. You can work through PADI Mermaid and Advanced Mermaid programmes, the Basic Mermaid Instructor track, and Emergency First Response courses, supported by an onsite training pool, a classroom, a retail shop, and free Wi-Fi.

Open water sessions run at sites including The Gardens, while pool training takes place at the Sutera Harbour Marina Swimming Pool. Beyond formal courses, the club hosts weekly pool sessions, mermaid trips, gatherings, and photo shoots. With five languages spoken — English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Malay, and Chinese — it suits anyone keen to join a genuine mermaiding community.
