Wellington, New Zealand · Dive Center
Plan this trip with AI →Established in 1990 by Tony Howell, New Zealand Sea Adventures has grown into Wellington's leading PADI SCUBA diving training facility. In 2000 it earned the region's first PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Centre rating, and it has twice been recognised by PADI for its Outstanding Contribution to the Dive Industry, alongside individual Instructor commendations. It is widely regarded as one of the safest and most professional training centres in the region.
An on-site training pool lets instructors take the time each student needs to build confidence before heading out to sea. Beyond the PADI Open Water Scuba Diver course, divers can progress to Advanced Open Water and a range of Specialty courses. As Wellington's senior Technical diver training facility, the centre also offers several Technical courses, including side-mount, rebreather and decompression skills.
Local diving takes in sites such as Blue Maomao Arch, Northern Arch, Island Bay, Owhiro Bay and the Canterbury and Rainbow Warrior wrecks. A PADI environmental award winner, the centre suits everyone from first-time students to experienced divers keen to advance.
