Scientific Diving School

Scientific Diving School (SDS) is the diving school of the Marine & Freshwater Science Group Association ASD, a social-promotion association registered with the municipality and province of Bologna, Italy. It grew from the work of its instructors and researchers in scientific diving, carried out in marine biology and ecology laboratories from the University of Bologna to institutions in Israel and the United States. The school's underwater researchers conducted the first surveys of Maldivian reefs after the Tsunami of 26 December 2004, at the invitation of the Government of the Republic of Maldives.

Courses and diving

A PADI 5 Star Dive Center with 4 PADI Instructors, SDS offers PADI Scuba Diving and PADI First Aid (EFR) training, supported by an onsite training pool, air fills and Enriched Air (Nitrox). Local dive sites include La Triglia, Capo Fonza and Corbella.

With a dive club, travel services and instruction offered in English and Italian, SDS suits divers drawn to a school rooted in genuine scientific research and hands-on education.
