Tanjong Jara Resort

Operating daily from Dungun on Malaysia's east coast, the Tanjong Jara Resort Dive Centre runs trips out to nearby Tenggol Island, part of the Terengganu Marine Park. The island lies just 45 minutes away by speedboat, fringed by white sandy beaches, lush jungle, and some of Malaysia's most pristine coral gardens. With more than 30 dive sites to explore, Tenggol rewards first-timers and seasoned divers alike — with the chance to encounter whale sharks in season.

Courses and diving

The centre offers fun dives in small groups, PADI courses, snorkelling trips, and rental of brand-new equipment. You can even complete your PADI Open Water Diver certification here, studying the theory at home before you arrive. Expect to share the water with sharks, turtles, and plenty of ocean fish.

Led by experienced instructors, local captains, and award-winning staff, the team keeps diving safe, personalised, and genuinely enjoyable — guiding guests to the best sites for exploring and photographing the vibrant marine life of Tenggol Island. English and Malay are both spoken.
