Uncle Chang's Sipadan Mabul Dive Lodge

Set on Mabul Island, Uncle Chang's Sipadan Mabul Dive Lodge is a PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Dive Resort that has grown from a simple backpackers' divers' lodge into a premium base for daily diving and snorkelling. A secondary location in Semporna adds a swimming pool, accommodation and a full dive setup, making the transition from learning on the mainland to diving the island an easy one.

Courses and training

The centre teaches the full range of PADI courses, from beginner Open Water through to Divemaster and the Instructor Development Course (IDC), plus everything in between. It also runs its own technical diving, freediving and mermaid programs, alongside a dedicated conservation branch. Training is overseen by in-house PADI Course Director Roihan, leading a team of 10 PADI Instructors, with safety and customer satisfaction the priority.

Facilities include an onsite training pool, classroom, house reef and waterfront location, while services span Air Fills, Nitrox, Trimix, equipment rental and Scooter (DPV) rental. With staff speaking six languages, it suits everyone from first-time divers to those chasing pro-level certifications.
