Vobster Quay Diving Centre

Vobster Quay bills itself as the UK's friendliest inland diving centre, and its 36-acre freshwater lake in Somerset backs that up with something for everyone. Certified divers come to sharpen their skills across depths ranging from 6m to 34m, while complete newcomers to subaqua diving can start from scratch in calm, welcoming surroundings.

What lies beneath

The lake is a playground of submerged attractions. Divers can explore the wreck of a large commercial aircraft, a 42ft motorcruiser and the metal wheelhouse of a former coaster, plus quarry buildings including a towering crushing works the size of a two-storey house — and even a concrete-lined subterranean tunnel that isn't for the faint hearted.

As a PADI 5 Star Dive Center with 5 PADI instructors, Vobster Quay covers training from PADI Scuba Diving and Freediving through to TecRec, Snorkelling and EFR first aid. With air fills, nitrox, trimix and mixed gas, equipment sales and rental, a waterfront setting, retail shop, free Wi-Fi, parking and food and drinks on site, it suits divers of every level looking to train, explore and have fun.
