Zanzibar Underwater Explorers

Set in Amaan Bungalow on the northern shores of Nungwi, Zanzibar, Zanzibar Underwater Explorers is a PADI dive center built around patient teaching and easygoing days on the water. A team of three PADI instructors runs courses, daily fun-diving tours to a rotating spread of dive sites, and snorkeling sessions — all from a waterfront base with a house reef right on the doorstep.

Courses and diving in Nungwi

The center is a natural fit for divers ready to build confidence, with the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course offered from USD 425 over roughly two days in a friendly, low-pressure setting. Instruction is supported by an onsite training pool and classroom, so you can move from theory to open water without leaving the property.

Dives explore local sites including Mwana Wa Mwana, Hunga, Mbwangawa, Kichafi, Nankiville and Haji, where marine life ranges from sharks, turtles and rays to reef fish, eels, molluscs, crustaceans and corals. With English, French and German spoken, it suits both first-timers and returning divers looking for a relaxed home base in northern Zanzibar.
