Plan this trip with AI →The Eliya is a phinisi liveaboard built in 2022, carrying just 14 guests across 6 cabins on dive trips through Komodo National Park in Indonesia. At 30 metres long with a 6.4-metre beam, she was custom built for diving — and with a crew-to-guest ratio of nearly 1:1, the attention on board rarely feels stretched.
Trips run round-trip from Labuan Bajo, taking in the park's best-known sites: Castle Rock and Crystal Rock, the Golden Passage, Manta Point, and the twin anchorages of Gili Lawa Laut and Gili Lawa Darat. The six-night itinerary covers roughly 19 dives and is open to Open Water divers with no minimum logged dives, with sites chosen day by day around conditions, tides and experience levels.
Divers looking for macro have nudibranchs, frogfish and blue ring octopus to hunt for; those after the big stuff have manta rays. Nitrox, DIN adaptors and sidemount are all catered for, with two tenders, a shaded dive deck and a separate rinse for underwater cameras. There's also a chance to go ashore on Rinca Island, where Komodo dragons can be seen.
Between dives, the boat keeps things easy: air-conditioned cabins with en-suite bathrooms and reef-friendly toiletries, warm water showers, a sun deck and observation deck, indoor saloon and outdoor dining, free internet, a bar — and a three-course meal every evening. Snorkellers and families are welcome, and there's a stand-up paddleboard for the quiet hours.
We ask all of our guests to meet in our Scuba Junkie Office 8.15-8.30 am. Once everyone is present, we will take you on board KLM Eliya. KLM Eliya will depart Labuan Bajo Harbour at 9.30 am. Our first stop will be the dive site of Sebayur - Think crystal clear water, white sandy bottoms, sloping coral reefs. This dive site is the perfect intro to what Komodo has to offer! As no trip is complete without a visit to see the Komodo Dragons, after breakfast, we will take you to Loh Buaya Ranger Station on Rinca Island. The time on the island takes in the education centre, a short trek to look for the Komodo Dragons, along with some beautiful viewpoints. The last dive of the day will be a sunset/n
Our first full day of diving will be the centre of the National Park, where we will aim to head to the pinnacle site of Pengah, and a great opportunity for reef sharks, eagle rays, coral cat sharks, large whip corals, and stunning soft and hard corals. After this, KLM Eliya will sail more centrally to the dive sites of Mawan, Siaba Kecil (aka “Superman drift”!!), and Siaba Besar. Mawan is very well known for the mantas that like to frequent here, with many cleaning stations and beautiful coral plateaus, this dive site has something for everyone! Siaba Kecil is one of the fastest dives in the National Park and is famous for the Superman-like feeling it gives our divers! The evening will be sp
Another day spent in the centre of the National Park will take you to Police Corner - a stunning reef with a large overhang. Expect brightly colored corals, schooling fusiliers, and hunting white tips on the occasional devil ray! From here, we will head to the world-famous pinnacle that is Batu Bolong. This pinnacle rises from the depths of the seabed and is a haven for marine life. From here we will head to Tatawa Besar - a beautiful sloping reef with the chance to see schools of fusiliers, mantas flying by, black & white tip reef sharks, and much more! A sunset or a night dive will be our last dive of the day in one of the sheltered bays where we will aim to spend the night.
5: We will set sail for the Northern dive sites, stopping off at Batu Bolong to dive the other side of this incredible pinnacle. Batu Bolong is a strong favorite among our guests! From here, we will head to Manta Point, which is the longest dive in the National Park. The drift dive will be spent looking for mantas that stop at the various cleaning stations along the way. From here, we will head to the Northern sites. Diving in Komodo is heavily influenced by the currents, so over days 4 & 5, we will dive the sites of Crystal Rock, Castle Rock, Lighthouse, and Golden Passage! These sites are famous for strong currents, schooling fish, hunting white tip & black tip reef sharks, and so much mor
On our final day onboard KLM ELiya, we will complete 2 dives. One dive in the North of the National Park and then we will head back to Central to Tatawa Kecil - a stunning dive site with sloping soft coral reefs, rocky topography, and stunning hard coral gardens. From here we will sail back to the harbour of Labuan Bajo and plan to disembark around 14.00. The last dive of the trip will be on the final day. Divers are recommended to wait for 24 hours before flying after the last dive. (*) The itinerary description is provided by the boat operator.
