Here are some possible sites you may visit: Boo Windows: One of the most famous dive sites, named for its unique topography. The site is a small island, with 2 swim-through 'windows' carved into it. The South West face of this site is quite steep and exposed to current, so you are likely to see patrolling sharks as well as the elusive Wobbegong Shark - be sure to look under the massive table corals! When the currents are right, we'll move off towards a large pinnacle in the blue. The pinnacle is often surrounded by pulsating schools of fusiliers and gangs of plate-sized Batfish. Heading back towards the Windows, notice how the sunlight filters through - it's like nothing else on earth! Follow the plateau of hard plate corals and look for Sweetlips hiding underneath. Be sure to investigate the huge Barrel Sponges - their crevices often conceal Hairy Squat Lobsters. Citrus Ridge is a reef covered in citrus colours from the many orange, yellow, pink, green, and purple soft corals that carpet the area. The sunlight often drapes across these and makes this one of the most beautiful dive sites in Raja Ampat. The reef is made up of a ridge that slopes down and it is one of those dive sites that are often called aquariums for the vast numbers of marine life that exist here. The corals are made up of a variety of soft corals including gorgonian fans, and these harbour the many different macro life to be found here. There are many bommies littered on the sandy bottom. The soft corals are home to literally thousands of glassfish that nest all over the dive site. The sea fans are home to many different types of sea horse including pygmy seahorses. There are also many different types of sweetlips and jaw fish. The table corals are perfect hiding places for Wobbegong sharks and they can normally be seen on the dive. Divers will also find many surgeonfish, batfish, and barracuda swirling around over the corals. There will also be lionfish, angelfish, and emperor fish. The huge island of Yillet is particularly rich and topographically weird. The tiny island has been undercut by untold millenia of wave action, forming an umbrella over a sloping underwater plateau with numerous spooky overhangs and cavelets. Diving with a torch is highly recommended for this site - you'll want to illuminate the dark corners of this site to see all the critters, as well as the wild colours. Barramundi cod and Hawksbill Turtles frequent this site. We also suggest you keep a sharp eye on the blue, as huge schools of barracuda hover in formation. Fabiacet, around this island, there are 4 islets which you can dive. Sometimes, great hammerhead sharks can be found here, coming up to shallower water to check out what divers are doing in the water. Bottom contour consists of drop off, slope, and mixed shape with coral reef as bottom composition. You can see some Snapper, Fusilier, Sweetlips, Butterflyfish, Angelfish, Grouper, Damselfish, Anthias, Batfish, Wrasse, Parrotfish, Surgeonfish, Triggerfish, Boxfish, Pufferfish, Porcupinefish, Gobies, Moray eels, Scorpionfish, Flathead, Blennies, Dragonet here. Farondi is one of the favourite dive sites in Raja Ampat due to its unique and distinctive landscape: tunnels, caverns, and colourful walls. The Wayilbatan area is a 30m wide channel with medium to strong currents washing along many nutrients. Due to them, numerous multi-coloured sea fans and crustaceans have made Wayilbatan their home. Wayilbatan is a true heaven for macro divers – you are sure to see at least one species you have never seen before! Wobbegong sharks like to relax in the coral heads and among the seas fans. In Pele, the most southeast area of Misool you will come across some worthy diving spots. Among these are Four Kings, Kaleidoscope and Pulau Kecil and Blue Hole, the latter offering a spectacular night dive spot.
Penemu island The Island, a long submerged seamount, has a cluster of excellent dive sites with overhanging walls, coral slopes and sea fans. It offers divers a beautiful insight in Raja Ampats’ marine life. Penemu is also an excellent night dive site. Here you can spot the tiny wonders in numerous coral gardens. Species of sea urchins, clams, cephalopods, crabs and sea spiders populate the areas protected from the currents. Penemu is not yet fully explored but some of the famous dive sites include My Reef, Batu Rufus, Harto’s Reef, Galaxy and Melissa’s Garden. The eastern side of Penemu is just as diverse. The hard coral garden found at Melissa’s Garden offers spectacular colours and various shapes of corals. This is a great dive experience for macro divers and macro underwater photographers. Plenty of soft corals such as sponges and anemones give shelter to a dense marine life.
Gam island It is considered one of the best sites and you will hear many people mention it as a must-visit while diving Raja Ampat. It offers a perfect spot for an easy dive over blooming soft corals with a dense reef population. The reef walls are covered in corals and the brilliant size of the purple-coloured coral fans leaves many divers amazed. Black coral bushes and soft corals populate the reef walls disappearing behind you while you drift dive along the coral overhangs. Batfish, surgeonfish, triggerfish, damsels and rabbitfish abound here. You will see giant trevallies, white and blacktips sharks and barracudas drift by while hunting coral groupers who escape to the overhangs. Enjoy the spectacle of nature and keep an eye out for the multitude of nudibranches and flatworms in the coral.
Dampier strait, Arborek This area is definitely one of the Raja Ampat highlights with tons of diving spots. Pinnacles, sandy slopes, reef walls covered with soft coral and hard coral reef tops, mark the diving scene around here. Steep valleys between the islands are part of the scenery and rare nudibranches are one of the highlights of the diving site. Pigmy Seahorses, manta rays, crocodile fish, surgeonfish, and unicorn fish are just some of the many life forms you will encounter. Arborek may be better known as a stop to see the culture of a local village in Raja Ampat, but it’s also a pretty good dive site. It’s well photographed and can be a little crowded, but the selection of critters and vibrant coral is great. From camouflaged frogfish to nudibranchs of every colour and swirls of schooling fish, it’s an underwater photographer’s paradise.
Dampier strait – South Gam & Mansuar The strait that flows between Waigeo and Batanta is rapidly becoming known as having some of the most spectacular diving in Raja Ampat as a result of the nutrient-rich ocean currents passing through. Everything that makes for a wonderful dive can be found here. Sardine Reef sits right in the middle of some open ocean. But divers don’t come here looking for schooling Sardines, they come looking for schooling everything else! The fish here are packed like sardines all over the reef. Look out for big teams of Fusiliers, Surgeonfish, Snappers, Damselfish and Butterflyfish taking shelter on this beautiful underwater mound. All this food attracts predators such as Barracuda, Spanish Mackerel, Giant Trevallies and several types of Jacks. Sometimes you might even find some Grey Reef Sharks on the hunt. This is also a great site to spot some less common species like Oceanic Triggerfish, Bumphead Parrotfish and Napolean Wrasse. Cape Kri is perhaps the most famous of Raja Ampat dive sites due to the record breaking 283 species (and growing) recorded in a single dive! The corner of the Cape offers divers a kicking current that will give even the most experienced divers a rush of blood with the scintillating prospect of a Manta and Eagle Ray flying by. Further along the site the steep slope has absolutely everything on offer. The coral fields play host to an accent of colour provided by swarms of Fusiliers, Damsels, Surgeons and Anthias. Dogtooth Tuna, Barracuda, Mackerel, Trevallies as well as Grey Reef, Blacktip Reef and White Tip Reef Sharks are frequently seen patrolling the area. You might also be surprised by Bumphead Parrots, Napoleon Wrasse and some very big groupers.

Wofo Island Dive at Wofo’s Black Forest, a stunning dive traversing the deep black fan landscape rising to a beautiful and pristine shallow reef.
