★ 5 · James Fairclough · 2022-09-30We've just returned from a 10 day trip aboard the Adelaar. What a memorable trip it was. The boat itself is fabulous, with small but really well planned cabins and individual good size shower and toilet. We spent the majority of our time between dives, on the deck, around a large fold out table with comfortable seating around. This area is under a cover to protect you from the sun and is equally good as a chill out area, as well as the main dining area. It's very sociable, as there are only 8 guests on the boat. There is good space inside as well, with charging area for all the cameras, phones and torches, and a library of books to identify all those Nudibranchs etc, if slugs are your thing! My wife and I haven't been diving for a while, so it was great to get back in to the water, in such an amazing place. We did a Komodo based itinerary, which encompassed some incredible dive sites, with diversity and fish numbers that I've rarely seen before. The dive team and boat crew were so helpful, you really didn't need to anything but final checks on your equipment. Dive briefings were thorough with beautifully drawn maps of the sites. The area is subject to some powerful currents, but the scheduling of the dives was done really well, to ensure that we could make the most out of each site, without having to battle too hard against any current (in fact the vast majority were drift dives, or sheltered. Each dive, we would go off in 2 separate groups, with a guide for each. On completion, we'd be helped on to the boat by a couple of crew members, with lots of fresh fruit, to remove the salty taste! When you are diving 4 times a day, most days, you get hungry and the food on the Adelaar is great and plentiful. We were looked after so well by a wonderful crew who worked so hard throughout, to make it an unforgettable experience. This is a premium boat and you do get what pay for. We can't wait for a return trip in the future. Thank you Reto and the whole crew of the Adelaar. You rock!
