Azores Sub Dive Center

Set on the south coast of São Miguel in the Marina de Vila Franca do Campo, Azores Sub Dive Center brings divers face to face with the volcanic underwater world of Portugal's mid-Atlantic archipelago. As a PADI Dive Center staffed by four PADI instructors, it's a welcoming base for anyone keen to explore these islands beneath the surface, with sessions available in English, Spanish, French and Portuguese.

Courses and diving

New divers can start with a First Time Scuba Diving experience around the Vila Franca Monument, while structured training runs from the PADI Open Water Diver through to the Advanced Open Water Diver via e-learning. Regular half-day dive trips head out morning and afternoon, with prices from USD 69.

The center's dive site, Islet Bay, opens the door to encounters with sharks, whales, turtles, rays, eels and ocean fish, alongside corals, anemones, molluscs and crustaceans. Back on land, its waterfront home offers an on-site training pool and classroom, air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, a retail shop, dive boat and parking — a well-equipped spot for divers of every level.
