Haliotis - Madeira Diving Center

Perched at Hotel Dom Pedro Baía in Machico — just 5 minutes from the airport — Haliotis is a PADI 5 Star IDC dive center on Madeira, the island long known as the "Pearl of the Atlantic" for a climate that keeps scuba diving open all year round. Water temperatures range between 17ºC and 22ºC, with visibility from 10 to 25 meters.

Courses and diving for every level

With 4 PADI Instructors and courses taught in English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese, Haliotis suits everyone from curious first-timers to certified divers keeping current. Try PADI Discover Scuba Diving by Boat, work through PADI Scuba Diver or Advanced Open Water Diver, refresh with PADI ReActivate, or add PADI Enriched Air Diver (NITROX). An onsite training pool and classroom back up the learning.

Boat dives head to sites such as Reis Magos and Parede do Sardinha, where divers may encounter turtles, ocean fish, eels, and — with luck around the Desertas Islands — the archipelago's rare monk seals. An onsite retail shop, equipment rental, air fills, and nitrox round out the facilities.
