International Diving School

Set on the waterfront in Hikkaduwa, Sri Lanka, International Diving School is a completely local-run PADI 5 Star Resort that has been operating since 1988 and has held the #1 position on TripAdvisor since 2015. A team of 3 PADI instructors works with English and German speaking guests, making it a welcoming base for divers arriving from abroad.

Courses and diving

The centre runs a full PADI pathway, from the PADI Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver courses through to Rescue Diver and Emergency First Response training. Certified divers can join a Half-Day Dive Trip from USD 79, while a handy onsite classroom, air fills and a wide range of rental equipment keep things simple for every level.

Local dive sites include the S S Conch, Earl of Shaftesbury, Black Coral Point, Kirala Gala, Goda Gala and Silva Point, where divers may encounter sharks, whales, turtles and ocean fish. With a house reef, dive boat, onsite accommodation and a waterfront setting, it suits both first-timers and experienced divers looking to explore Hikkaduwa's waters.
