About Pro Dive International Catalonia Playa Maroma
Founded in 2003, Pro Dive Mexico has built a reputation for excellent quality and first-class adventures out of its dive center at Catalonia Playa Maroma in Puerto Morelos. This is a place for divers who want variety: cenote diving, encounters with bull sharks, wrecks and local reefs, plus safaris in search of whale sharks and sailfish.
Courses and who it suits
As a PADI 5 Star IDC center with four PADI instructors, the team caters well to advanced divers while still welcoming those building their skills. The line-up runs from a Pool Check and Scuba Refresher to the PADI Open Water Diver course and the Nitrox Enriched Air Diver course. Multi-day options include a mini cenotes package pairing two boat reef dives with two cenote dives, half-day two-dive boat trips, and tank packages for divers who plan to log plenty of time underwater.
On site you'll find a training pool, a classroom, a waterfront location, a dive boat and parking, with staff speaking English, Spanish, Dutch, French, German, Italian and Russian.

★ 5 · Mireille Moonen · 2009-07-28Great last minute deal from Europe for Catalonia Maroma resort. What a great hotel, nice beach, superb food and great ambiance. Pro Dive Mexico was the inhouse dive provider, and we had a great time. Was a bit afraid to go to Mexico after this "swine flu" thing, but as it turns out, absolutely no signs at all. I heard that Mexico had a terrible time due to all the negative publicity. All companies had to reduce staff, and had to make cost saving measures just to survive. Had a little chat with the baseleader and he told me that as of last week it was getting very busy again and the company was hiring qualified staff to get their service level up just as it was before. I went with them for a 2 tank dive on Cozumel, what a great reef (palancar garden), had such a great time over there and everything was arranged perfectly. Next day of to see the whale sharks!! Pro Dive Mexico had been conducting this excursion since many years as a National Geographic Dive center. (they had a Television crew from Germany coming over for 4 days). This excursion was beyond my expectations. We saw over 50 Whale sharks, manta rays, turtles and dolphins. Steffie, our German and English speaking guide was really professional and helping us with everything. Long day, many impressions and lot's of pictures.... Big thank you from Holland.
