At Temple Adventures Divers India, the team likes to say they "give time a [underwater] break." Based in Puducherry on the East Coast of India, this PADI 5 Star CDC bills itself as the country's first and only East Coast diving center — and it has been exploring these waters since 2007, mapping reef, marine life, and ancient submerged structures along the way.

Courses, sites and who it suits

With 12 PADI instructors on hand, the center covers everyone from first-timers to technical divers. Beginners can start with Discover Scuba Diving (from USD 81) or work toward Open Water Diver, while certified divers can build skills through Advanced Open Water, Deep Diver, Enriched Air, and Sidemount specialties. A Half-Day Dive Trip and Emergency First Response training round out the line-up.

Divers explore more than 17 sites ranging from 5m to 40m depth, with visibility up to 40m+, including the signature Temple Reef. Marine life here spans sharks, whales, turtles, rays, and ocean fish. On-site facilities include a training pool, classroom, house reef, dive boat, and free Wi-Fi, with staff speaking English, Tamil, Marathi, Malayalam, and Hindi.
