Iguana Divers

Tucked into the famous surf town of Santa Teresa on Costa Rica's Pacific coast, Iguana Divers is a small, family-run dive centre with a clear mission: to inspire personal involvement in the collective effort to heal our oceans. As a PADI 5 Star Dive Resort with 3 PADI instructors, the team shares its days doing what it loves — diving, exploring nature, and passing that connection on to students and fellow divers.

Diving the mercurial Pacific

The one thing you can count on here is excitement. Conditions can shift greatly from one dive to the next, so divers are always briefed on the potential for challenging waters — which invariably makes for a fun, memorable experience. At dive sites like El Bajo de Tortilla, sharks, morays, lobsters, sting rays, crabs, and schools of colourful fish are daily sightings. Two special seasons bring rarer visitors: oceanic manta rays from January to April, and humpback whales from August to September.

With an onsite classroom, equipment rental, a retail shop, dive boat, and conservation activities, Iguana Divers suits curious divers who want to learn while caring for the ecosystem. The team speaks English, Spanish, German, and Swedish.
