Mundo Acuatico

Founded in 1979, Mundo Acuático holds the distinction of being the first diving school and shop in Costa Rica. Based in San José, this PADI 5 Star Dive Center has spent decades welcoming divers of every level, guided by experienced PADI and NAUI instructors and a friendly, professional staff.

Courses and diving for every level

The centre offers a full range of courses, from complete beginner to expert, alongside a program of guided diving trips. You'll also find equipment rental and maintenance services, plus a retail shop stocking diving gear for newcomers and advanced divers alike. English and Spanish are both spoken here.

Guided dives explore local sites including Las Catalinas Classico, Cacique, Elefante, Virador, Playpen and Punta Argentina, where the marine life ranges from sharks, whales, turtles and rays to eels, molluscs, corals and more. On-site facilities include a classroom, free Wi-Fi, air fills and a dive boat, along with a dive club and conservation activities. It's a welcoming home base for anyone wanting to learn, explore and dive Costa Rica's waters.
